Manual lenses

Sun May 18, 2008, 9:34 PM
Bought a Voigtlander Nokton 58mm F1.4 SL II lens sometime back and i love these manual lenses. It's built like a tank, metal construction and very heavy!
Shooting wide open is very very challenging, with a shallow DOF any slight movement and the focus is off. But i just love this lens!
Recently with the help of a friend in the States, i got myself a piece of history. I bought the Nikkor 55mm F1.2 AI lens. One of the fastest ever produced by Nikon, many had said that quality wise this is not as good as the Nikkor Nocton 58mm F1.2 AI. Well the Nocton cost at least 4 times more!
These lenses are a departure from the plastic AF lenses, it oozes quality!
Next up i'll be sending my FM2 for servicing and my OM10 for repair and i'd like to take these manual film SLRs out for a shoot!
Long Live Manual Cameras!
